The Turtle Bay Resort

Turtle Bay Resort is a resort on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. The resort owns almost five miles of Oahu's beachfront property—including Bay View Beach Lawn, Kawela Beach and Turtle Bay. It is only forty five minutes away from the city of Honolulu which means that guests at Turtle Bay Resort enjoy easy access to a large city (and all that it provides) as well as the tranquility of a remote beach location. The ocean can be seen from all of the resort's rooms (there are four hundred and forty three of them) and cottages.

Turtle Bay Resort is home to swimming pools that have been completely landscaped, two golf courses that are of a championship level, horseback riding, tennis courts, mountain bike trails, shopping, dining, a surfing school and plenty of hiking areas. It is only a few minutes away from the Polynesian Cultural Center, which is one of the most popular destinations in Hawaii.

Here are a few of the things you can do at Turtle Bay Resort:

Take a helicopter ride: Turtle Bay Resort is the only resort that has onsite helicopter tours. The helicopter takes you on a tour of the entire island. There are three different helicopter tours to choose from, the sixty minute “Oahu Experience”, the forty minute “Best of Oahu” and the twenty minute “North Shore and Waterfall Adventure.”

Go surfing: The resort has its own surfing school which is run by Hans Hedemann, who is considered by many to be a surfing legend. There are classes for people of all skill levels and the resort has equipment available to rent. Each day there is a free surf clinic and guests at the resort can also have private or group lessons with a variety of instructors.

Go Horseback Riding: Turtle Bay Resort offers horseback riding on the North Shore of Oahu. Your horseback ride will take you through tropical beaches, around beautiful sandy coastline and across gorgeous beaches. If you want to go horseback riding you can sign up for trail rides (about forty five minutes in length), or take a private lesson and then go for a private ride (private rides require twenty four hour notice). Guests also have the option to go on wagon rides, or to take their kids on pony rides.

Go Hiking: There are twelve miles of trails and pathways on which you can go hiking at Turtle Bay Resort. The paths wind next to the ocean and through the trees (ironwood and palm).

Go Shopping: There are five major shopping sites at Turtle Bay Resort. Kohala Bay Collections is a clothing boutique. Jeanie's Boutique is a small store that sells souvenirs, jewelry and porcelain dolls. Treasures of Polynesia offers handmade wares like woven baskets, carved bowls, and handmade jewelry. Lamonts has fantastic souvenirs to take home to your friends. Island Impressions offers gifts, flowers, gift baskets and a selection of fine art paintings, prints and blown glass.
